Dulevo D.Zero² – perfect for Manchester and other towns and cities

Three news item that caught our eye recently at Lincoln Cleaning Technology were about Manchester. It’s related to the many urban uses of the incredible Dulevo D.Zero², a new all-electric industrial that is in huge demand.

You may well be familiar with its regeneration and growth. If you’ve not been there for 20 or more years, the city may surprise and delight you.

Firstly, the city has imposed a Tourist Tax, a £1 per night hospitality surcharge, which shows that tourism for Manchester is big business.

Secondly, the New York Times, no less, listed Manchester in the top 25 global destinations to visit in 2024, specifically praising its music scene:

Stars like Liam Gallagher, Eric Clapton and Barry Manilow are booked to inaugurate the 23,500-capacity space, which will complement the reopening of concert halls like the post-punk incubator Band on the Wall and New Century, where the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and Tina Turner have all graced the stage.

Thirdly, the Financial Times reported that Manchester is the only UK city seeing huge population growth in the confines of its city centre.

The northern English city is being transformed by new residential skyscrapers that dwarf its 19th-century heritage.

Many years ago, the only towers visible on approach were the now disused CIS building, the Arndale Centre and that nestled next to Piccadilly Gardens. All has changed though with both Salford and Manchester seeing huge skyscrapers being built, following in the shadow of the Beetham Tower on Deansgate.

Whilst this huge demand is pushing up property prices (Pep Guardiola lives off Deansgate in a new apartment block), the need for cleaner streets with almost 1 million people clustered around Manchester, presents its own problems.

Disturbed sleep in city centres

You may have stayed in London or Barcelona, for example, and had your sleep disturbed by 3am bin collections. Diesel refuse lorries and their crews noisily emptying residential and commercial bins, whilst traffic is light. It can’t be too long until we see EV lorries collecting urban rubbish, as e-buses are now increasingly common.

The future of cleaning

Local authorities and private cleaning providers are already looking to the street cleaning future: with the Dulevo D.Zero²

You can see a video of this amazing piece of kit on our website and read its specs and functions on the Dulevo page.

What we would reiterate is how great this machine is not just for our cross-Pennine neighbour, Manchester, but for other towns and cities in the UK.

Why?

  1. It is operationally quiet, as it is powered by electricity
  2. It has the most modern batteries with the latest Lithium-Iron-Phosphate cells meaning lower weight and greater peace of mind, in warranty coverage
  3. There are zero emissions, meaning less impact on polluted city centres, and enhancing green credentials to boot
  4. It is comfortable and easy to drive and operate
  5. 4 modes come as standard: ECO, STANDARD, HEAVY, BOOST (for limited time of use)
  6. It charges quickly and can operate for 8 hours, subject to terrains and mode
  7. It is perfect for both daytime and night-time cleaning
