Industrial cleaning machines have to get down and dirty in some of the grungiest places, both inside and out.
Oil, sand, mud, industrial waste, even rotting leaves all need to be tackled and removed from surfaces quickly and efficiently.
But street cleaning machines also have to be eco-friendly in their operation, in line with international industry goals to reach net zero emissions. We must use human ingenuity and technical innovation in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels and stabilise the climate.
At Lincoln Cleaning Technology we are happy to say that the industrial cleaning machine sector has its climate champions too.
Green and clean
Street cleaning machines produced by our partners in Italy, Dulevo Fayat Group, can be configured according to customer requirements and are available in Electric, Natural Gas (CNG) and Diesel versions. We offer a range of Dulevo products including the all electric, ride on sweepers, powered by lithium battery, which makes them real climate champions. Choose the sweeper size that suits you, from the Dulevo 90 or the larger Dulevo 100 in the EH versions. For more heavy duty cleaning in industrial environments, we recommend the Dulevo 120 EH, with its 450 litre hopper capacity.
What is CNG and should we be excited about it?
In a word, yes.
Compressed natural gas is a low carbon fuel which has significantly reduced particulate matter and CO2 emissions compared to conventional gasoline and diesel fuels. Over 23 million vehicles worldwide are powered by it and CNG vehicles are much quieter than their diesel equivalents: up to 50% reduction in noise pollution in fact.
BIO-CNG = the future of fuel?
There’s also an amazing product called Bio-CNG (or compressed biomethane) which is a little bit different from fossil-derived CNG, yet it’s chemically identical. Bio-CNG is a by-product from the decomposition of food and animal waste. This is safely collected in an anaerobic digester and then injected into the gas grid, for a variety of uses by consumers. The organic fertiliser can then be put back onto the soil, returning the carbon. It’s a win win for farmers as it helps them to manage their waste and improve efficiency. Natural Gas is a clean and safe energy source that is 100% renewable. It’s also good to know that demand for CNG is growing: you might have spotted a Waitrose or a John Lewis HGV on the motorway, powered by CNG. Read more about it here cngfuels.com/learn-more/
Innovation from Dulevo
Dulevo’s new street washer, the D.Zero 6000 Hydro CNG is powered by natural gas and is set for a very bright future. Its high-pressure water spray bar at the front and additional spray gun, for those tricky, hard to reach areas, make it hard to beat. It has exactly the same washing capacity as the diesel version but its greener fuel means that it has significantly lower emission levels: another win in the race to net zero. In terms of combustion engines, CNG offers the most environment friendly and lowest emission fuel.
Another green innovation from Dulevo in Italy.
Save Water
Despite all the rain, a prominent feature of life in the UK, clean water is a precious resource which should not be wasted. All Dulevo machines are designed to reduce water use to a minimum and operators can select the best washing mode for the conditions. Using clever water recycling systems, a vehicle can reuse up to 70% of the water used during washing. It’s all looking good for the future of industrial cleaning, which is firmly set to Eco Mode!
